Me and Media Studies


The reason I chose to do media studies is because I really want to do animation and editing for big companies like Disney Pixar or Dreamworks as a job when I leave University. I thought that this year of media would help me when I come to do this job. It would give me the basic knowledge i need to do well at uni. Also to achieve this i am doing Art, ICT Applied and Maths, as these are all requirements for the university course. 


I really like Musee and Mumford and Sons, although they are completely different types of music the sound is inspirational. I really like folky music and Mumford and sons really got what I look for in folk music.

Whereas Muse is alot more rock and I love their individuality and their style. they have built themselves up from nothing and that I believe that it is amazing.

 Matt Cardle is new on the scene and although i dont normally take to any of the X Factor winners, but the emotion in his songs made me pay attention and I am now hooked to his music.

I am a big fan of the CSI's, NCIS and The Mentalist, the american detective dramas are really catchy and I always want to know what happens next. Also the wit of Patrick Jane in the mentalist (Simon Baker) adds hugely to the tone of the program.  

 For the British dramas, I am a big fan of Silent Witness and Spooks They are action packed and never bore me like other dramas. However my all time favourite program is HOUSE, Hugh Laurie adds an amazing atmosphere and plot to the dramas, and medical emergancies that Dr. Gregory House has to tackle.  

I dont really have a favourite film although I have many films which I really like. The adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, is a great film with complicated twists and action that mixes altogether to make a gripping story. I also really like The Tourist starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, as the plot is clever and the twist in the plot is what makes it an amazing film that is cleverly written. As far as directors go I admire the work of Steven Speilsberg and David Slade. Both styles are very different but yet both amazing.

I read Q magazine and NME and that is about it for magazines. I like finding out about new artists and the latest songs and album releases. With websites I like Facebook and my uncles photography website that holds all of his own photos- http://ringingmaster.dyn-o-saur.com/photos/ .Other than that I dont really look at magazines or any websites.
